I am writing today from the comfort of my warm bedroom far far away from the freezing Winter Wonderland outside! Things have been very crazy around Lawrence trying to get used to my Spring semester classes as well as the other various activities I am overjoyed to be a part of! I used today's snow day (AND TOMORROW's!!) for catching up and preparing myself for my upcoming classes and practicum lessons! I am so thankful and lucky to have these snow days!
The week leading up to my return to school, I participated in an amazing, amazing experienced called LeaderShape. It was the most wonderful retreat that focused on leadership, with the greatest people at the University of Kansas. I am so lucky to be able to call those wonderful people my dear friends now! One of the best parts about that entire experience was creating and establishing my mission statement, which I am delighted to share now!
"To perpetuate a new generation of inclusivity and diversity appreciation by instilling a sense of love, acceptance, and open minded-ness in every single one of my future classrooms."
I can't wait to take my mission statement and run with it in my future years as an educator. I think it really instills all of my core values as it pertains to my future profession!
Lastly, I am saddened to have stepped down from my position as Vice President of Intellectual Development in my Greek chapter (but overjoyed for the lovely woman replacing me!) as my term ended recently. I have loved this experience and know that it has helped me establish and grow as a leader, which will be so important in my upcoming years! Some of the most fun I had in this position was all of the fun crafty things I got to do to represent the wonderful academics of my peers! I had too much fun on these boards! :)

I hope you all have the most wonderful day and stay warm and safe during these snow storms!
