Welcome!

Parents,

         Welcome to my 5th grade classroom! I am so excited to have your student in my class for this important year. This is my first year teaching 5th grade, but my experiences in student teaching have me beyond ready to jump in and begin! As we go through the year, we will hit many important topics that are important to the development of students in 5th grade. In Mathematics, we will begin working more critically than ever before, linking mathematics to real life problems. In Science, we will have a large focus on inquiry learning, and tons of hands on experiences! In Social Studies we will be focusing on learning about the development of our country. Reading and Language Arts will primarily be focused on looking for text-evidence to support our learning.
      As we continue through the year, there will be weekly updates about the ongoings of our classroom. Those will be posted to this website every Friday before the end of the day. If you at any point have any questions, do not hesitate to call, email, or visit me before or after school. I will post ways to be involved in the classroom on this website. There will be opportunities for Guest Readers, Field Trip Leaders, Party Parents, and more! I would love for all of you to be involved throughout the year.
